We’ve all heard about food miles and how we need to know where our food comes from. This is a philosophy we’ve been practicing for years with our home produced pork, chicken and not forgetting our famous Christmas turkeys. Our farming methods have changed little over the years and our traditional approach means that all our animals have very high welfare standards. We know that happy pigs make tasty bangers! We also make great efforts to source other meats as locally as possible.

Our traditional butchers are more than happy to offer advice on preparation and cooking on a wide variety of meat cuts plus our delicious home made sausages and burgers.

british-porkThis month we are focusing on our own pork. And it’s not just us that are passionate about British pork. Jamie Oliver’s latest campaign “saving British bacon” is getting behind it too. Good for him! And good for us – he’s pulled together a great collection of Pork recipes to help make the most of this meat. Take a look.

We’ve also put together a few of our own favourites, make the most of them! (links will open in new windows/tabs)
